Frisco, Texas (May 5, 2008) - A living monument that collects, preserves and recreates the history of Frisco, Texas, opens its doors as a tourist destination Saturday, May 3. The Heritage Museum is a two-story, 18,000 square foot complex designed to showcase ageless artifacts and objects that hold many stories of life long ago and some of the traditions that have endured over the years.
Dedicated to saving the City's rich history, the two-phase $5.5 million project is the focal point of Frisco Junction. The interactive museum will allow visitors to understand how the early citizens of Frisco lived, worked, and played. A living village has been recreated with replicas of the Lebanon Baptist Church, a one room school house, a log cabin, the Smith Muse house, and the Frisco Train Depot.
This newest attraction in Frisco means more opportunities to book group tours and plan unique offsite events during your meetings. In addition to a trip through time, there will be some good eating at Babe's Chicken Dinner House, which will have private banquet rooms and is scheduled to open in July.
Frisco CVB Executive Director Marla Roe adds, "The Heritage Museum enhances our other cultural offerings, such as the Texas Sculpture Garden, and is the first of several museums that will fill Frisco Junction." It is the start of a museum row with an expanded 12-acre Museum of the American Railroad scheduled to move to Frisco within the next year.
