Savor Dry January: Frisco's Top Mocktail Spots

The month-long vow to be sober, known as Dry January, officially started in 2013 in the United Kingdom. We’ve come a long way from the early years of people fearing that giving up drinking alcohol for a month would cause them to be social hermits. With the popularity of mocktail offerings in bars and restaurants, it’s easier than ever to be social and sober simultaneously!

Frisco has dining options with menus to satisfy every craving and special occasion without the alcohol. Here’s a look at seven spirit-free restaurants with offerings of mocktails to try, whether it’s Dry January or any time of year. So, pull up a chair, order up a drink, and enjoy!

Tupelo Honey

It’s no surprise you can find flavors like honey and lemon on the mocktail menu at the southern-inspired kitchen Tupelo Honey. Some of the non-alcoholic menu items include the Buzz-free Bee’s Knees with Lyre’s Pink London spirit, lemon, honey, served up with a lemon twist, the Classico Megamosa with Lyre’s non-alcoholic sparkling wine. Tip for the best brunch approach - make it a mocktail flight for the whole table to taste!

And, for a little more elevated beverage than the average glass of cola or rootbeer, Tupelo’s great portfolio of beverages are a superb selection. Their spirit-free sips include lavender lemonade and porch sippers - hand-crafted beverages with fruit juices, purees, simple syrups, ginger beer, and more.

Didi’s Downtown

From zesty citrus blends to tropical sensations, Didi’s Downtown in the Frisco Rail District has the mocktail for every palate. One of the most robust mocktail selections around, Didi’s serves seven drinks on their Who’s Drivin’? menu: Blackberry Pony Water, Cherry Vanilla Coke, Nojito, Safe Sex on the Beach, Mango Sunset Spritz, Watermelon Mint Limeade, and Peach Rosemary Lemonade.

Didi’s Chef and Owner, Scott Hoffner, says there are endless opportunities and combinations of non-alcoholic mixers that make these mocktails as good as any libation. “Mocktails give everyone an opportunity to join in on a great time. So many people these days don't drink or can't drink, so a good mocktail allows everyone to join in on the party without feeling left out,” says Chef Hoffner.

Tip for a great night out, enjoy live music on the enclosed patio.

Eight | 11 place

They call it Zero Proof at eight | 11 place, but rest assured these drinks have none of the alcohol and all of the fun. A favorite among guests, the Designated Frisco features strawberry basil puree, ginger beer, lemon and club soda. The lemonade, mint, lime blend of the No-Jito or the Temperant Berry with pineapple, blackberry syrup, mint, and club soda may be your new favorite!

Tip for a cosy vibe, snuggle up with a fire pit table on the back yard patio.

The Frisco Bar

Much like this local favorite’s Sober October mocktail menu, patrons can find a great selection of drinks sans the alcohol. From the No-Tequila Ritas, Strawberry Zero, and Notta Chocolate Martini to the Spicy Mango Lemo-nado, consider your thirst quenched.

Tip for a festive night out, head to Frisco Bar on Karaoke Night or to watch a big game.

Lounge by Topgolf at PGA Frisco

Pa-No-Ma with Clean T, fresh lime, jalapeno simple syrup, and Owen’s Rio Red Grapefruit is right on brand for this golf spot located in the PGA District. Or try the Tea Box brewed iced tea, fresh lemon and mint, peach reál, sweet tea simple syrup, and garnished with a dehydrated lemon wheel.

Ice House

A few steps across the putting green you’ll find barbecue and more mocktails at Ice House. Their famous Slushie Shirley is made with lemon-lime soda, Liber & Co. real grenadine, and a cherry popsicle.

Tip for great people watching, grab a patio table next to the first tee at PGA Frisco’s lighted par 3 course, The Swing.

Trick Rider

Omni PGA Frisco Resort’s steakhouse, Trick Rider, has three mocktails on the menu: Fit to be Tied featuring grapefruit and Monin candied orange, Back in the Saddle with peach reál, balsamic vinegar and club soda, and the Trixie, a lime, raspberry, strawberry delight!

This list of more than 20 cleverly named non-alcoholic drinks is just a taste of what you can find across Frisco, TX restaurants and bars. Explore our restaurants page and check out the nightlife in Frisco as you plan your next adventure. Happy sipping!
