Frisco's first gift shop, Heart's Desire, started as a hobby between friends and has now been a Frisco treasure for 29 years. Long-time friends Sherri Hale and Molly Hoebeke originally started the business for additional income as their kids were heading into high school. And now, many years later, it's a robust curation of specialty items in a joyful, welcoming space.

You'll find seasonal items welcoming you as you enter the charming store and discover everything from inspirational products and melamine dinnerware to collegiate gifts and handbags. Heart's Desire carries lake-themed gifts, plus, paper products, jewelry, luggage, endless items for entertaining, and even has a bridal and baby registry. "We really do try to create what call shopping happy. We know you can shop just about anywhere, so we make our store just a little bit different'," said Sherri Hale. "We make it highly curated, so you know what's here is really good."

The store, at the core, is gifts and accessories. But over time it's grown into the specialty gem it is after three decades of reinventing themselves, listening to customers, and curating items they love personally. "Different areas have grown because of our lives," says Molly Hoebeke. "With the advent of our friends having grandchildren and us having grandchildren, the baby area of the store got really big because we'd select things that, as a grandmother, we just had to have,"

Faith and Delight

Going back to the beginning, Sherri and Molly sprinkled in faith and inspiration into their shop. The name comes from Psalm 37:4, Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Heart's Desire really does give you that sense of delight and peace when you visit and interact with the staff.

Sherri and Molly attribute their success to having the best, loyal customers and a team that's like none other. They have customers who have shopped with them for more than two decades. The history and connection with their customers is authentic, like with a customer they recall ordering custom baby announcements long ago, then eventually graduation invitations, and then on to the announcements of their own children.

If you happen to be one of those longtime shoppers, you may remember that it started out downtown Frisco. For the first five years, Heart's Desire was on Main Street, across the street from Randy's Steakhouse before it became that beloved Frisco restaurant.
