What do local Olympians and first-class athletes do when they are in Frisco? Inspired by some of the athletes who grew up here, train or play here, or just love it here, like Jaedyn Shaw, Hezly Rivera, Sam Watson, Scottie Scheffler, and more, let's take a run through a fun itinerary fit for any podium!
It's unavoidable that we are feeling the soccer vibes going into the 2024 Paris Olympics. One reason is soccer player Jaedyn Shaw, who grew up in Frisco, went to school in Frisco, and played youth soccer for FC Dallas. She's competing in the Paris Olympics July 25 - August 10 as the United States Women Soccer team take on the world. Jaedyn currently plays professionally for San Diego Wave FC, where she was named U.S. Soccer Young Female Player of the Year after her rookie season. In December 2023, Frisco got to give Jaedyn some hometown cheer when she scored a USWNT comeback goal to defeat China at Toyota Stadium. Go Jaedyn!
Fuel Up
In training mode, carb loading, or just hungry, Frisco has plenty of options to refuel. Go for a power bowl, acai bowl, or one of the three spinach wrap options on The Nest Cafe's healthy wraps menu, or, indulge a bit with their S'mores Waffle, Salmon Toast, or Fried Egg Sandwich.
La Parisienne French Bistro will get you into the Olympics mood with the Paris-themed ambiance for brunch, lunch, dinner, afternoon tea, and desserts.
To satisfy your sushi craving, Kotta Sushi Lounge is perfect for everything from a quick, flavorful lunch to an indulgent, leisurely dinner. Their selection of the freshest seafood and fish flown in from Japan and pacific oceans includes Katsuo, Hamachi, Hotate, and much more.
Undoubtedly, there are mouth-watering steak options in Frisco, too. Dee Lincoln Prime at The Star features prime steaks, fresh seafood, delectable sushi, hand-crafted spirits, and world-class wines. Randy's Steakhouse in the Rail District serves fine steaks in historic elegance with entrees such as a New York Strip, Blackberry Filet, and Pork Chops. Steps away from the Fields Ranch championship courses, at Omni PGA Frisco Resort you can find a championship meal at Trick Rider. Enjoy their Boneless Ribeye or 32 oz Porterhouse and finish it off with the 24 Karrot Cake with canided black walnuts and cajeta silk.
While you dine, let the competitor come alive at Nerdvana, a chic gaming-themed restaurant that features a scratch kitchen, custom cocktails, and gaming consoles at your table. When you are ready for an after-dinner drink, escape the fans at a hidden speakeasy in the Shops at Starwood. But, before you head to the Rare Books Bar be sure to do your research and use the phonebooth to call the librarian for access.

Have Some Fun
If you have that soccer fever like we do, plan to be in Frisco when MLS club FC Dallas plays at Toyota Stadium. While you are there leave plenty of time to explore the National Soccer Hall of Fame and the great pieces celebrating U.S. Soccer’s Olympic history. The U.S. women have been extremely successful since women’s soccer was added to the Olympics in 1996 winning gold in 1996, 2004, 2008, and 2012. Defender Becky Sauerbrunn’s 2012 gold medal is on display, as well as other artifacts including a few floor displays. On the men’s side, see jerseys from the 1948, 1952 games, and much more.
The U.S. Paralympic team is represented, as well. Josh McKinney was inducted into the National Soccer Hall of Fame class of 2024. Josh was a decorated member of the U.S. Paralympic team and the first member of an extended national team to be inducted.
Another champion alert - the Frisco RoughRiders are proud to be the AA affiliate of the World Champion Texas Rangers! Enjoy a RoughRiders game at Riders Field, one the best ballparks in the minor leagues. If you are visiting with a ticket to the famous lazy river in right field, don't forget your swimsuits!
Next stop, PGA Frisco. Play on one of the two 18-hole championship golf courses (Fields Ranch East and Fields Ranch West), a short 10-hole course you can play into the night under the lights (The Swing), or a 2-acre putting course (The Dance Floor). Two of their 13 dining options bring golf into the dining experience, with simulation hitting bays at Lounge by Topgolf and live hitting bays at Ice House.
You can even stop in to see where eSports players train. Complexity Gaming has created the world’s foremost operations center and training facilities at The Star. During public hours, take a seat at a machine to see for yourself the player-first mentality, passion, professionalism, and innovation of modern esports.
