Frisco is set to host an exciting event February 1-9 with the arrival of world-class tennis at the Dallas Open Tennis tournament. Taking place at Ford Center at The Star, this marks the first time Frisco rolls out the red carpet for renowned tennis professionals. The larger venue compared to previous tournaments offers more interactive fan experiences, ensuring that there is something for everyone. Whether you are a devoted tennis fan or simply looking to enjoy a fun outing, this is a perfect opportunity to experience a premier sporting event in an intimate setting.
Fan Experience Optimized
Ford Center was thoughtfully designed as a premier multi-sport facility, accommodating a variety of athletic events. With a seating capacity for the Dallas Open configuration of approximately 6,000, the venue offers an intimate and immersive atmosphere for fans, ensuring that every attendee feels close to the thrilling action on the court. Guests can purchase tickets at various price points, available each day and evening, and can look forward to an array of impressive features:
- Two full-sized match courts—a center court and a grandstand court will create an exciting arena for competitions, complemented by four practice courts for training and preparation.
- A lavish three-story VIP experience, which offers unparalleled views and comfort. This exclusive area includes:
192 four-seat luxury boxes elegantly arranged around the court, perfect for entertaining guests while enjoying the action
Two rows of 120 premium seats with a fantastic vantage point for spectators
The Starlight Club is a sophisticated lounge area with seating for 500 guests, ideal for socializing and enjoying refreshments during events
In Tostitos Championship Plaza, located in front of Ford Center, a tented area will be open to the public as a fan activation zone. This space allows everyone to engage with tennis and its partners. Visitors can participate in various free, tennis-themed interactive events, including the 'Fast Ball' and 'Fast Serve' challenges, where fans can immerse themselves in the sport and enjoy the lively atmosphere.
This venue will feature a DJ booth, the Peroni beer garden, a Moet Champagne entertainment space, and a DAOU Wine bar where you can enjoy specially curated tennis-themed cocktails, including the aptly named 'Match Point' and 'Top Spin'.
There will be nine days of programming and activities designed to attract a younger demographic, foster their interest in tennis, and help build future tennis fans and players.
Tournament officials and directors emphasize the importance of inspiring young players. These young athletes can attend and enjoy the event while getting a chance to see some of the top-seeded U.S. players, who are currently making headlines worldwide. By offering this chance to watch their idols in action, the hope is that young players will be motivated to improve their own game, while even younger fans may start to consider tennis as a sport to pursue.
Top Player Field in Frisco
The tournament will feature top U.S. players, including defending champion Tommy Paul, Frances Tiafoe (World No. 17), Taylor Fritz (World No. 4), and Ben Shelton (World No. 21). Additionally, players from thirteen different countries will compete starting from day one of the tournament. These international participants include Casper Ruud, a powerhouse from Norway, Tomáš Macháč from Czechia, Canadian Denis Shapovalov, and Cameron Norrie from Great Britain.
This event promises to be an exemplary showcase, featuring bright young stars alongside established names in the sport. Two wild cards have been awarded, including one to Trevor Svajda, a sophomore and the top player at Southern Methodist University (SMU), highlighting the talent present at the college level. Trevor is excited about the opportunity to compete alongside some major players at an ATP 500 event and describes this experience as 'one of the biggest moments of my life'.
John Isner expressed his excitement about having big-name players compete throughout the week at this event, as the top four players will be in action from the very beginning.
