Redevelopment in the Downtown Rail District

Frisco's historic downtown district is undergoing a $68 million redevelopment project. Don't worry, during the road work and construction phases, businesses, restaurants and stores remain open for business! Public on-street parking is available along Elm Street, 5th Street, and three nearby existing parking lots.

Four components provide the framework to make a reimagined downtown area more walkable and pedestrian friendly:

  • Main Street (construction began July 2024)
  • 4th Street Plaza (construction anticipated to begin Fall 2024)
  • Parking Garage (construction anticipated to begin Fall 2024)
  • Elm Street (opened to traffic 2023)

The plaza will serve as an outdoor community gathering space for downtown with a pedestrian connection between Elm and Main Streets. All four projects are expected to be complete in 2026.
